The Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities. Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience. 
In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:
Applicants to IOM internships must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
 a) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or
 b) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) or (b) above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. 
c) All applicants must be between 20 and 36 years of age. Exceptions must be approved in advance by the Director, DHR. 
d) Applicants should have a working knowledge (both oral and written) of at least one of IOM’s official languages (English, French or Spanish).

Background Information

The Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) Unit at IOM Algeria supports relevant Government authorities in enhancing their capacities to manage border governance. Current and upcoming interventions include capacity building, equipment and infrastructure provision, policy support, and initiatives related to International Migration Law (IML), rule of law, rights-based border management, Integrated Border Management (IBM), Humanitarian Border Management (HBM), countering cross-border crime, legal identity, and cross-border cooperation in support of humane and orderly migration.
