Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
eLawCareers is operated by Top Venture Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales under company number 13640243, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. In this Privacy Policy, “eLawCareers”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Top Venture Ltd.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, retain and protect personal data when you visit or use the eLawCareers website, platform, accounts, job listings, recruitment tools, communications and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
It applies to job seekers, candidates, employers, recruiters, advertisers, account holders, website visitors and other individuals whose personal data we process in connection with the Services.
We process personal data for purposes including operating and improving our recruitment platform, publishing and promoting vacancies, facilitating recruitment, administering accounts and payments, maintaining security, preventing fraud, marketing our Services where permitted, complying with legal obligations and protecting our legitimate business interests.
This Privacy Policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy, together with any additional privacy notices provided for specific features or services.
We aim to handle personal data responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection law. However, no website, database, electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We cannot guarantee that our Services or third-party systems will always be uninterrupted, error-free or immune from security incidents.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy excludes or restricts any right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
2. Who Is Responsible for Your Personal Data?
Top Venture Ltd is generally the data controller for personal data we collect and process to operate and administer eLawCareers. This means that we determine the purposes and means of that processing, subject to applicable law.
Our contact details are:
Top Venture Ltd

Depending on the activity, another organisation may act as an independent data controller. For example, an employer or recruiter that receives a job application through eLawCareers will generally determine how that information is used for its own recruitment activities. Third-party providers may also act as independent controllers for certain processing activities carried out under their own responsibilities.
We are not automatically responsible for processing carried out independently by those organisations merely because their services, listings or links appear on eLawCareers.
3. Personal Data We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with the Services. We may collect information directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, from employers and recruiters, from service providers, and from publicly accessible or other third-party sources where permitted by law.

| Transaction information | Billing details, invoices, subscription information, payment status and transaction records |
| Technical and usage information | IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, approximate location, pages viewed, searches, clicks, session data and access times |
| Marketing and preference information | Newsletter subscriptions, communication preferences, consent records, unsubscribe requests and cookie choices |
| Public and third-party information | Professional information, publicly available business contact details, vacancy information and other information received from employers, recruiters or permitted third-party sources |
| Security and fraud-prevention information | Suspicious activity indicators, login attempts, reports, technical logs and information used to investigate suspected misuse |
We do not necessarily collect every category listed above from every individual.
3.1 Information Provided by Candidates
If you create an account, upload a CV, complete a profile, set up job alerts or apply for a vacancy, we may process information you provide about your identity, professional background, qualifications, career history, preferences and applications.
Please review your CV and profile before uploading them. Do not provide information that is unnecessary for your intended use of the Services, particularly sensitive personal data or information about other people.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate, lawful and appropriate for the relevant purpose, subject to any rights you may have under applicable law.
3.2 Information Provided by Employers and Recruiters
If you register as an employer or recruiter, advertise vacancies, purchase services or manage recruitment activity, we may process your contact details, organisation information, job listings, account records, billing information, communications and use of employer features.
If you provide personal data relating to candidates, employees, colleagues or other individuals, you must have the authority and lawful basis required to provide it. You must also provide any privacy information required by law.
We may request additional information or take reasonable steps to verify an employer account, vacancy or business relationship where necessary to protect the platform and its users.
3.3 Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Services, we and our service providers may collect technical information about your device, browser, network, activity and interaction with the platform.
We use this information for purposes such as maintaining functionality, diagnosing technical problems, understanding service performance, improving navigation, measuring engagement, protecting accounts, detecting suspicious activity and preventing abuse.
Non-essential cookies and similar technologies will be used only in accordance with applicable consent requirements and our Cookie Policy.
3.4 Information Received From Other Sources
We may receive information from employers, recruiters, recruitment partners, business partners, technology providers, authentication services, analytics providers, fraud-prevention services and other third parties where permitted by law.
We may also obtain professional, organisational or vacancy information from publicly accessible websites, employer career pages, professional directories and other public sources in connection with our recruitment and job-board services.
Where we obtain personal data indirectly, we will provide the information required by applicable law about the categories and source of the data, the purposes of processing and other relevant matters, unless a lawful exception applies.
Public availability does not, by itself, mean that personal data can be used for every purpose. We assess the relevant legal requirements and will take appropriate action where necessary.
4. Information About Other People
You must not submit personal data about another person unless you are authorised to do so and the disclosure is lawful.
If you upload a CV on behalf of a candidate, submit another person's contact details, or provide employee or applicant information, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary authority and have complied with applicable transparency and data protection requirements.
We may request evidence of your authority or lawful basis, restrict the relevant feature, remove information or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected unlawful disclosure or protect individuals and the Services.
These measures do not transfer your legal responsibilities to us.
5. How We Use Personal Data
We may use personal data for the following purposes:
- To create, authenticate, administer and maintain accounts.
- To provide job-search, vacancy-publication, application, profile, CV, employer and recruiter features.
- To publish, display, organise, categorise, update, promote and administer job advertisements.
- To facilitate communications and application transmission between candidates, employers and recruiters.
- To provide job alerts, saved searches, recommendations and relevant notifications.
- To administer payments, invoices, subscriptions, refunds and employer services.
- To respond to enquiries, provide support and investigate complaints.
- To monitor, maintain and improve the performance, reliability, accessibility and functionality of the Services.
- To analyse usage, understand user needs, develop features and assess the effectiveness of our products and services.
- To personalise certain features and present relevant jobs, services or content where permitted by law.
- To send service announcements, account notices, security alerts and other administrative communications.
- To send marketing communications where permitted by law and to manage subscriptions and communication preferences.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, scams, fake vacancies, impersonation, spam, malicious activity, unauthorised access and other misuse.
- To enforce our Terms of Service, investigate suspected breaches and protect our users, systems, property and business.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, reporting and law-enforcement requirements.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims and obtain professional advice.
- To administer business transactions, including a merger, investment, restructuring, financing, sale or transfer of all or part of our business.
- To carry out other purposes disclosed when information is collected or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
We may also use information that has been aggregated or effectively anonymised so that individuals are not reasonably identifiable for analytics, statistical reporting, benchmarking, service development, market research, security and other legitimate business purposes.
We will not rely on this section as authority to use personal data for a new purpose where doing so would be unlawful or incompatible with applicable data protection requirements.
6. Lawful Bases for Processing
Where UK GDPR, EU GDPR or equivalent legislation applies, we process personal data only where an appropriate lawful basis is available.
| Lawful basis | How it may apply |
|---|---|
| Contract | Creating and administering accounts, providing requested platform features, facilitating applications, managing paid services and performing contractual obligations |
| Legitimate interests | Operating and developing the business, improving the Services, protecting platform security, preventing fraud, maintaining records, enforcing terms, communicating with users and defending legal claims, where those interests are not overridden by the individual's rights and interests |
| Legal obligation | Complying with applicable tax, accounting, regulatory, court, reporting and other legal requirements |
| Consent | Processing for which consent is legally required, such as certain marketing communications or non-essential cookies and similar technologies |
| Vital interests | Limited circumstances in which processing is necessary to protect someone's vital interests |
| Public task or other applicable basis | Where a specific activity and applicable law make another lawful basis appropriate |
The lawful basis depends on the particular processing activity and circumstances. We do not assume that one lawful basis applies to all processing.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests may include operating a sustainable recruitment platform, improving our services, protecting our users, preventing misuse, maintaining reliable systems, promoting our business and managing legal or commercial risks. We consider the impact on individuals and applicable safeguards when determining whether legitimate interests are appropriate.
Where consent is required, we will seek it before the relevant processing begins. You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out lawfully before consent was withdrawn.
7. Special Category and Sensitive Personal Data
Some personal data is subject to additional legal protection. This may include information about health, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, trade-union membership, sexual orientation, genetic or biometric data used for identification, and information concerning criminal convictions or offences.
Please do not upload or submit such information unless it is necessary for your intended use of a particular feature and its processing is lawful.
Where we process special-category data or criminal-offence data, we will do so only where an appropriate legal basis and any additional condition required by law are available.
Employers and recruiters are responsible for ensuring that their own collection and use of sensitive information during recruitment complies with applicable law.
8. Job Applications and Employer Responsibilities
eLawCareers provides a platform intended to help candidates discover opportunities and to help employers and recruiters advertise vacancies and connect with potential applicants.
When you apply for a job, the information you submit may be transmitted to or made available to the employer, recruiter or organisation responsible for the vacancy. Depending on the application method, you may be redirected to an external website or application system, where separate terms and privacy notices may apply.
After an employer or recruiter receives your information, it may process that information as an independent data controller for recruitment and other lawful purposes. This may include assessing your suitability, contacting you, arranging interviews, making recruitment decisions, sharing your application with relevant personnel and retaining records in accordance with its own policies and legal obligations.
We do not make or guarantee an employer's hiring decision, response, interview invitation, offer of employment or other recruitment outcome. Unless expressly stated for a particular feature, we do not control how an employer or recruiter assesses applicants or handles information after receiving it.
Employers and recruiters are responsible for their own recruitment practices, privacy notices, lawful bases, retention arrangements, employment compliance and decisions. This includes compliance with applicable data protection, equality, discrimination, immigration, confidentiality and employment laws.
If your privacy request relates to processing for which an employer or recruiter is the independent controller, we may direct you to that organisation. We will continue to handle any part of the request that falls within our own legal responsibilities.
9. Job Listings and Publicly Available Information
eLawCareers may display vacancy information and related professional or organisational information received from employers, recruiters, business partners or publicly accessible sources, where permitted by law.
We may use such information to organise and display vacancies, improve job-search functionality, categorise opportunities, maintain listing records, identify expired or potentially inaccurate listings, and promote the Services.
We may correct formatting, classify vacancies, remove duplicates, update links, add relevant categories or make other reasonable editorial or technical changes to listings. We may also remove, restrict or decline to publish information where we reasonably consider this necessary for accuracy, platform integrity, legal compliance, rights protection or user safety.
We do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, accurate, available or authorised by the organisation identified in it. Candidates should verify important details with the employer or recruiter before relying on a listing or submitting personal information.
Where a listing contains personal data, we will process that data subject to applicable law. The fact that information is publicly accessible does not automatically remove data protection obligations.
If you believe that a listing or other information on eLawCareers unlawfully contains personal data or infringes your rights, contact us at info@elawcareers.com with sufficient detail for us to identify the material and assess the concern. We may request further information before taking action. We may remove or restrict disputed material while investigating where appropriate, but we do not guarantee removal in every case.
10. Sharing Personal Data
We may disclose personal data where necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to provide the Services, to fulfil contractual obligations, to comply with law, to protect our legitimate interests or otherwise where disclosure is permitted by law.
Recipients may include:
- Employers and recruiters receiving applications or using recruitment features.
- Hosting, cloud infrastructure, database, backup and website technology providers.
- Platform, software, authentication and technical support providers.
- Payment processors, billing providers and accounting systems.
- Email, messaging, notification and communications providers.
- Analytics, performance measurement and service-improvement providers.
- Security, anti-abuse, fraud-prevention and verification providers.
- Marketing and advertising providers, where their involvement is lawful and any required consent has been obtained.
- Professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors and consultants.
- Insurers, financial institutions and commercial counterparties where appropriate.
- Courts, regulators, government bodies and law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted by law.
- Prospective or actual purchasers, investors, lenders, business partners or other parties involved in a corporate transaction.
- Other recipients where disclosure is necessary for a purpose explained in this Privacy Policy or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
We do not disclose personal data indiscriminately. The information shared will depend on the relevant service, recipient, purpose and legal requirements.
11. Service Providers and Third-Party Controllers
We use third-party providers to support the operation, security and delivery of the Services. These providers may process personal data on our behalf, including for hosting, data storage, communications, payment processing, analytics, customer support, fraud prevention and technical maintenance.
Where a provider acts as our processor, we will put in place contractual and other safeguards required by applicable law. Some recipients, including employers and recruiters using application information for their own purposes, may instead act as independent controllers.
A provider's role depends on the actual processing activity, not simply on the label applied to it in this Privacy Policy.
We may change our providers as our platform, technology, operational requirements and business arrangements develop. We will update our practices and privacy information where required by applicable law.
We are not responsible for the independent processing practices of third parties acting as separate controllers. This does not remove any responsibility we have for our own processing or any other responsibility that applicable law places on us.
12. International Data Transfers
Personal data may be processed or stored in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, the United States or other countries, depending on our service providers, business operations and the services you use.
Where applicable law restricts an international transfer, we will use a legally recognised transfer mechanism where required. Depending on the circumstances, this may include an applicable adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful mechanism.
The safeguards applicable to a transfer depend on the destination, recipient, data involved and legal regime. Where required by law, you may request further information about the safeguards used for a particular transfer.
An employer, recruiter or other independent controller may also transfer your information internationally under its own arrangements and responsibilities.
13. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purposes, taking account of the nature of the information, the Services provided, applicable legal requirements, security needs and the need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
The following periods are indicative guidelines rather than a promise that every record will be deleted on a fixed date.
| Data category | Typical retention approach |
|---|---|
| Candidate accounts, profiles and CVs | While the account or relevant feature remains active, followed by review and deletion or anonymisation under our retention procedures. As a general guideline, inactive account information may be retained for up to 12 months after last activity unless a longer period is justified or permitted |
| Employer and recruiter accounts | While the account or commercial relationship remains active, followed by retention for legitimate operational, contractual, legal and dispute-related purposes |
| Job advertisements and listing records | While a listing is active and for a reasonable subsequent period to maintain records, investigate complaints, assess platform performance and address legal or commercial issues |
| Billing and transaction records | For the period required by applicable tax, accounting and other legal requirements, which may be up to seven years or longer where legally justified |
| Security and access logs | Generally around 90 days, subject to longer retention where reasonably necessary for an investigation, incident, fraud prevention or legal claim |
| Marketing preferences and consent records | For as long as necessary to administer preferences, demonstrate compliance and maintain suppression records |
| Customer support and correspondence | For as long as necessary to resolve the matter and maintain appropriate operational, legal and dispute records |
| Privacy requests and compliance records | For as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance, manage the request and establish or defend legal claims |
| Legal claims, investigations and disputes | For as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the matter and comply with relevant legal obligations |
We may retain information for longer where necessary to comply with law, investigate suspected fraud or abuse, protect security, resolve disputes, establish or defend legal claims, enforce our agreements or protect our legitimate interests.
Where information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it, anonymise it or otherwise dispose of it appropriately. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, archives or technical systems until routine deletion processes operate.
Information already supplied to an employer, recruiter or another independent controller may remain in that organisation's systems under its own retention policy. We cannot ordinarily delete information from systems that we do not control.
14. Account Closure and Deletion Requests
You may request account closure or deletion by using available account functionality or contacting info@elawcareers.com.
We may need to verify your identity and clarify the scope of your request before acting. We will consider valid requests in accordance with applicable law.
Closing an account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every item of information. We may retain information where permitted or required for legal compliance, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, contractual administration or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
We may also retain a limited record of a deletion request or marketing opt-out where necessary to demonstrate compliance or prevent further unwanted communications.
Deleting an account with eLawCareers does not automatically delete information held independently by employers, recruiters, external application systems or other third parties. You may need to contact those organisations directly.
15. Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of personal data in qualifying circumstances.
- Request restriction of processing in qualifying circumstances.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Object to direct marketing.
- Request data portability where the legal conditions are met.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Receive information about qualifying automated decision-making or profiling.
- Complain to a relevant data protection supervisory authority.
These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. For example, we may be permitted or required to retain certain records, refuse a request that falls within a lawful exemption, or continue processing where a valid legal basis applies.
We will not refuse a valid request merely because it is inconvenient or commercially disadvantageous. We will assess requests according to applicable law and explain a refusal where required.
15.1 How to Make a Request
Send your request to info@elawcareers.com.
Please identify the right you wish to exercise and provide enough information for us to understand the request. We may request proportionate additional information to verify your identity and prevent unauthorised disclosure. We will not request more information than is reasonably necessary for that purpose.
We will respond within the time limit required by applicable law. Where permitted by law, we may extend the response period for a complex or numerous request, in which case we will provide any required explanation. We may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act where the applicable legal conditions for doing so are satisfied.
If a request concerns data controlled by an employer, recruiter or another organisation, we may explain that the request should be directed to that organisation. We will handle any part that remains our responsibility.
You may also complain to the relevant supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom, this is generally the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You do not have to contact us first if applicable law gives you the right to complain directly.
16. Automated Processing, Recommendations and Profiling
We may use automated processes to support job searches, search rankings, job recommendations, personalisation, service optimisation, fraud detection, security monitoring and spam prevention.
These processes may use information such as search terms, selected preferences, account activity, listing information and technical indicators. The features available and the information used may change as the Services develop.
Automated assistance does not necessarily amount to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not make final hiring decisions on behalf of employers unless a particular service expressly states otherwise.
Where applicable law imposes specific obligations concerning automated decision-making or profiling, we will comply with those obligations.
Employers and recruiters remain responsible for their own recruitment decisions and for ensuring that any automated assessment tools they use comply with applicable law.
17. Marketing and Service Communications
We may send communications necessary to administer accounts, process transactions, deliver requested services, provide security notices, respond to enquiries or notify users of important operational or legal matters.
Where permitted by law, we may also send marketing communications about eLawCareers, vacancies, recruitment services, employer products, events, platform updates and related opportunities.
We will obtain consent where consent is required. Where another lawful route is available, we will apply the conditions and safeguards required by the relevant marketing and privacy laws.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link provided or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending essential account, security, transaction, legal or service-related communications.
We may retain a record of your marketing preferences and opt-out request to ensure that we respect your choices.
18. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, tags, scripts, local storage and similar technologies for account functionality, authentication, security, preferences, analytics, performance measurement, fraud prevention and advertising.
Some technologies may be strictly necessary for a service you request or for the secure operation of the platform. Others may require consent before they can be used.
The specific technologies deployed may change as we introduce, remove or update features and service providers. Our Cookie Policy and any applicable consent-management interface explain the relevant choices and provide further information.
You may change your preferences using the controls provided on the Services, where available. Blocking certain technologies may affect the functionality of some features.
We will honour legally recognised privacy signals, including Global Privacy Control, where required by the law applicable to the user and processing activity. We do not promise to respond to every browser signal where the law does not require us to do so.
19. Advertising and Analytics
We may use analytics and advertising services to measure traffic, understand engagement, assess the performance of our Services, promote vacancies or employer products and support our business.
Depending on the services deployed and the applicable law, providers may process technical identifiers, device information, page interactions, referral information and other data relating to visits or advertising activity.
Where consent or another specific legal requirement applies, we will implement the relevant controls before carrying out the processing.
Certain disclosures or uses of personal information may constitute “sale”, “sharing” or targeted advertising under some US state privacy laws, even if no money changes hands. Where applicable law gives you a right to opt out, we will provide the required method and honour valid opt-out requests.
We do not describe a particular analytics or advertising provider as active unless it is actually used on the Services. Our operational practices and Cookie Policy should accurately reflect the technologies deployed.
20. United States Privacy Rights
If a US state privacy law applies to our processing of your personal information, you may have additional rights. Depending on the applicable law, these may include rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of personal information, opt out of certain targeted advertising or profiling, opt out of a statutory sale or sharing of personal information, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, appeal a decision on a privacy request and receive protection against unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
The availability and scope of these rights depend on the applicable law, your circumstances, the information involved and any relevant statutory exceptions.
We do not sell personal information for money in the ordinary meaning of that expression. However, some disclosures or uses of information for advertising or analytics may be treated as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under applicable legislation. Where required, we will provide appropriate opt-out controls.
20.1 Submitting a US Privacy Request
You may submit a request to info@elawcareers.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect against unauthorised disclosure. Where applicable law permits an authorised agent to act on your behalf, we may require evidence of that authority and may separately verify your identity.
We will respond within the applicable statutory timeframe. Where a law provides a right of appeal, we will provide the required process. We may decline a request where the applicable law permits refusal, including where the request cannot be verified or a statutory exception applies.
20.2 California Residents
Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, or other applicable California privacy legislation applies, California residents may have additional rights relating to access, correction, deletion, sensitive personal information, sale or sharing, targeted advertising and profiling.
The relevant statutory definitions, exceptions and requirements determine which rights apply to a particular processing activity. We will provide the notices and mechanisms required by applicable law.
21. Security and Account Protection
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure and access.
Depending on the circumstances, these measures may include access controls, authentication safeguards, encryption, logging, monitoring, backups, security testing, provider controls and incident-response procedures.
No system or security measure can eliminate every risk. Internet transmissions, third-party infrastructure and electronic storage may be exposed to threats outside our reasonable control. We do not guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential, using appropriate passwords and notifying us promptly if you suspect that your account has been compromised.
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where we reasonably consider this necessary to investigate suspected misuse, protect the Services or users, comply with law or maintain security.
22. Security Incidents and Fraud Prevention
We may process information to detect, investigate and prevent scams, fake vacancies, impersonation, phishing, spam, unauthorised access, malicious activity, payment abuse and other misuse of the Services.
This may involve reviewing relevant account activity, technical logs, IP addresses, listings, communications, application activity and reports submitted by users. We may use automated tools and specialist providers to identify suspicious activity.
Where permitted by law, we may share relevant information with technology providers, professional advisers, affected organisations, fraud-prevention services, regulators or law-enforcement authorities.
If we become aware of a personal data breach, we will assess it and take the steps required by applicable law. Where notification to a regulator or affected individuals is legally required, we will provide it within the applicable timeframe.
We do not undertake to notify every user of every technical or security incident where the law does not require notification. This does not remove any mandatory notification obligation that applies to us.
23. Legal Requests and Protection of Rights
We may disclose personal data where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a court order, legal process, regulatory requirement or lawful request from a competent authority.
We may also disclose relevant information where permitted by law to investigate suspected unlawful activity, enforce our terms, protect users, prevent fraud, safeguard our systems or property, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where legally permitted, we may challenge or seek clarification of a request that appears unlawful or excessively broad. We may be prohibited from notifying the affected individual about a request or disclosure.
24. Third-Party Websites and External Services
The Services may contain links to employer career pages, recruiter websites, application portals, social networks, payment systems and other third-party websites or services.
When you follow an external link or use an external application system, the third party may collect and process information under its own privacy policy and terms. We do not control its systems or independent processing practices.
We are not responsible for the privacy policies, security practices, availability or content of external websites merely because a link appears on eLawCareers. You should review the relevant third-party terms and privacy notices before submitting personal information.
This section does not exclude any responsibility that applicable law places on us for our own activities, links, disclosures or processing.
25. Public Profiles and Information Shared Through the Platform
Depending on the features and settings available, information you submit may be displayed publicly or made available to employers, recruiters or other users.
Before publishing a profile, CV or other information, consider who may be able to access it and whether it contains details you do not wish to disclose. Do not assume that information made public will remain confidential.
Information that becomes publicly accessible may be copied, indexed, cached or processed by third parties. We cannot guarantee that every copy will be located or removed from third-party websites, search engines, archives or systems after the original material is deleted from eLawCareers.
We will handle requests relating to public information in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the request.
26. Data Accuracy and User Responsibilities
We rely on users, employers, recruiters and other information sources to provide accurate and appropriately updated information.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate, complete and not misleading, and that you have the necessary rights and authority to provide it.
We may allow information to be updated or corrected and may take reasonable steps to address reports of inaccurate, outdated, misleading or potentially unlawful material.
We are not responsible for the accuracy of information supplied by another user or third party merely because it appears on the Services. We do not guarantee that every listing or profile has been independently verified.
Where reasonably necessary, we may request supporting information, mark a listing as under review, restrict access or remove content to protect users, maintain the integrity of the Services or comply with law.
27. Children's Privacy
eLawCareers is designed primarily for people seeking or providing employment and recruitment services. Some users may be young people legally able to seek work or participate in relevant opportunities, but the Services are not intended to encourage unlawful collection of children's personal data.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children where doing so is prohibited by applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal data in circumstances where its collection is unlawful, contact info@elawcareers.com.
If we become aware that personal data has been collected in circumstances requiring deletion or other action, we will take reasonable steps in accordance with applicable law.
28. Corporate Transactions and Business Restructuring
If Top Venture Ltd considers or undertakes a merger, acquisition, investment, financing, restructuring, reorganisation, insolvency process, sale of assets or other corporate transaction, relevant personal data may be disclosed to professional advisers, prospective purchasers, investors, lenders, counterparties and other participants where permitted by law.
Personal data may also be transferred as part of the transaction where lawful and appropriate safeguards are applied.
Where required, we will provide notices, obtain consent or take other steps required by applicable law. We will not treat this section as unrestricted permission to disclose personal data for any commercial purpose.
29. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, technology, business operations, service providers, legal requirements or regulatory guidance.
The latest version will be published on eLawCareers with an updated “Last updated” date. Where applicable law requires notice of a material change or renewed consent, we will provide the required notice or seek the necessary consent.
Changes will not authorise us to process personal data retrospectively for a purpose that applicable law prohibits. Where a new use requires a new lawful basis, further transparency or consent, we will take the steps required before beginning that processing.
You should review this Privacy Policy periodically to remain informed about our current practices.
30. Complaints and Supervisory Authorities
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, you may contact us at info@elawcareers.com so that we can assess and respond to it.
You may also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority responsible for your jurisdiction. In the United Kingdom, this is generally the Information Commissioner's Office. Individuals in the European Economic Area may generally complain to the relevant data protection authority in their country of residence, place of work or the location of the alleged infringement.
Contacting us first may help us investigate the concern, but it does not remove any right you have under applicable law to complain directly to a supervisory authority.
31. Interpretation and Applicable Legal Requirements
This Privacy Policy describes our intended personal data practices and is to be interpreted consistently with applicable data protection and privacy law.
If a provision of this Privacy Policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the mandatory requirement will prevail to the extent of the conflict. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to waive or restrict a right that cannot lawfully be waived or restricted.
Different legal regimes may apply to different individuals, processing activities and jurisdictions. We will apply the provisions and safeguards required for the relevant circumstances.
This Privacy Policy does not guarantee that every feature will be available in every country, that every request will be granted, or that every third party will act in accordance with our expectations. Those matters remain subject to applicable law, the relevant facts and the responsibilities of each organisation involved.
32. No Guarantee of Absolute Security or Uninterrupted Service
We take reasonable measures to protect personal data, but we cannot guarantee that the Services, our systems, our databases, the internet or third-party systems will always be secure, available, uninterrupted or free from vulnerabilities, malware, attacks, data loss or unauthorised access.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for a security incident or loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including unlawful acts of third parties, internet or telecommunications failures, failures of independent third-party systems, or compromised user credentials resulting from circumstances we could not reasonably prevent.
This section does not exclude or restrict any liability, duty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, and does not relieve us of our own obligations under applicable data protection law.
