Hera Group

Hera Group is one of Italy's leading multiutility groups, founded in 2002 through the merger of 11 municipally owned multiutility companies and headquartered in Bologna. The group operates across the regulated utilities sector, delivering electricity, natural gas, water, waste-management, public-lighting and telecommunications services in Italy, and states as its purpose the support of environmental and economic development in the territories in which it operates.

Its activities span electricity and natural gas distribution and sale; water distribution, sewerage and purification; and the collection, treatment and recovery of waste, including the recovery of materials from waste. Public-lighting and telecommunications services round out the portfolio. Technical domains include waste treatment and recovery, water distribution and purification, renewable resources, the circular economy, resource efficiency, decarbonisation and the digital transition.

As a group operating essential infrastructure and public services under municipal ownership structures, Hera works closely with municipalities, customers and other local stakeholders.
