Snam

Snam is a European natural gas infrastructure company founded in 1941. It builds and manages energy networks across three business areas: gas transportation, gas storage and LNG regasification. The company is one of Italy's major listed companies by market capitalisation and operates in Italy and across the European Union.

The group's transportation business manages more than 38,000 km of pipelines in Italy and abroad. Its storage operations account for one-sixth of the entire European Union's gas storage capacity, and it ranks as Europe's third-largest player in regasification, with 28 billion cubic metres of annual managed capacity. Renovit, a subsidiary, promotes energy efficiency for businesses, condominiums and public administration, investing in decarbonization, digitalization and distributed energy generation.

Snam states a mission of guaranteeing stable energy supplies to Europe, with an emphasis on energy security and integration across different energy vectors. The company has committed to carbon neutrality by 2040 and to net-zero emissions across all scopes by 2050. Its technical focus spans natural gas pipeline infrastructure, gas storage, LNG regasification, energy networks, decarbonization, digitalization, distributed energy generation and energy efficiency.
