GTT
GTT engineers membrane containment systems for the cryogenic shipping and storage of LNG, and also works on LNG fuel systems, smart shipping and green hydrogen electrolysers.
GTT is an engineering company specialising in containment systems for the shipping and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in cryogenic conditions. Its membrane containment systems are used in LNG carriers, floating terminals, land-based storage and multi-gas carriers. The company was formed in 1994 through the merger of Gaztransport and Technigaz, whose predecessors developed the first membrane containment systems in the 1960s; GTT counts 60 years of design and technology experience in LNG containment.
Beyond containment, GTT develops solutions for using LNG as a fuel and operates two subsidiaries: Ascenz Marorka, which provides digital services for Smart Shipping, and Elogen, which designs and assembles electrolysers for green hydrogen production. Its technical domains span cryogenic engineering, membrane containment technology, marine and offshore engineering, LNG fuel systems and digital shipping solutions. The company works worldwide across LNG shipping, floating terminals, land-based storage, multi-gas carriers and green hydrogen production.
GTT describes a strong focus on research and development and technology innovation. It runs its own in-house test laboratory and partners with engineering companies, research institutes and universities. Its stated mission is centred on the safe transport of energy while reducing environmental impact, supported by decades-deep hands-on technical expertise.
