Victrex
Victrex develops PEEK and PAEK polymer materials, manufacturing forms and finished parts for aerospace, automotive, energy, electronics, industrial and medical applications.
Victrex is a manufacturer of high-performance PEEK and PAEK polymer materials, supplying polymers, manufacturing forms and finished parts to producers facing demanding design and engineering requirements. Founded in 1993 through a management buy-out of ICI's PEEK polymer business, the company works with customers from early concepts and material selection through application development and commercialisation. Its technical base spans high-performance polymer science, advanced materials engineering, composites, acoustic film technology and biomedical polymer materials.
The product portfolio includes PEEK and PAEK polymers, films, fibres, filaments, composite tapes and components. Two products illustrate its commercial reach: APTIV acoustic film, used in more than four billion mobile devices, and Invibio PEEK-OPTIMA polymers, which feature in approximately 15 million implanted medical devices worldwide. Victrex materials are also used in more than 20,000 aircraft, in over 500 million PEEK-based automotive parts, in more than 75 million seals and in over 100 million machines.
The company serves customers in the aerospace, automotive, energy, electronics, industrial and medical sectors, with an emphasis on improving performance, durability, weight and manufacturing efficiency. It describes an independent corporate culture dating from its 1993 buy-out and a collaborative working approach that follows applications through to commercialisation.
