Dentons is recruiting a Business Development Manager to support marketing and business development activity across its Restructuring, Banking and Finance practice. The role focuses on delivering strategic business development initiatives, including proposals, client campaigns, events, sponsorships, client relationship management and targeted business development activity.

The Business Development Manager will work closely with partners, the Senior Business Development Manager and the wider Clients & Markets function to support the practice's strategic objectives and identify opportunities for client development and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Client Development and Campaigns

The Business Development Manager will develop and manage campaigns that align the Restructuring, Banking and Finance practice with Dentons' wider strategic objectives. The role will also support larger cross-practice campaigns led by the Senior Business Development Manager.

Responsibilities will include managing requests for proposals and other opportunities received by the practice, preparing information for regional and global proposals, supporting key client and panel appointments, and helping partners implement personal and practice business plans.

The role will involve researching markets and strategic clients to identify opportunities for engagement. The Business Development Manager will also help partners prepare for business development meetings by producing appropriate materials and credentials.

Other responsibilities include preparing promotional materials, ensuring relevant content is reflected across Dentons' systems and internal communications channels, and supporting client feedback initiatives.

Events, Sponsorships and Market Development

The Business Development Manager will work with the Events team and Practice Support Executives to plan and deliver client events, including both in-person and virtual events.

This will include assessing potential new events against strategic objectives, preparing invitations and targeted client lists, organising event logistics and webinar arrangements, and supporting the delivery of events.

The role will also involve identifying client entertainment opportunities, developing sponsorship opportunities and maximising the client engagement generated through events and sponsorships.

Following events, the Business Development Manager will ensure relevant information is captured within the CRM system, measure return on investment and support appropriate follow-up with potential leads.

The role will also manage legal directory and awards submissions, coordinating contributions across the firm and balancing opportunities to promote individual lawyers, practices and Dentons' wider rankings.

Wider Business Development Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will collaborate with the core Business Development team and the wider Clients & Markets function. The role will also work with the Clients & Markets team in Warsaw on business development systems, including CRM information, global credentials, proposals and CV databases.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring business development expenditure against budget and contributing to ad hoc projects as required.
