Ashtead Technology is an international provider of subsea equipment rental solutions, advanced underwater technologies and support services to the global offshore energy sector. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, the company employs more than 650 people and has built up over 40 years of experience in its field. Its business spans subsea equipment rental, survey and robotics, mechanical solutions, asset integrity, inspection and maintenance, decommissioning services and offshore engineering services.

The group operates one of the largest independent rental fleets in the industry, comprising more than 30,000 assets, and serves customers in over 80 countries from sixteen facilities. Its activities are organised around three lines: Survey & Robotics, supplying specialist equipment and engineering services for survey and robotic subsea operations; Mechanical Solutions, covering mechanical subsea equipment and engineering support across the lifecycle of offshore infrastructure; and Asset Integrity, providing inspection, maintenance and integrity management for offshore infrastructure, extending to decommissioning. More than 85% of its equipment is fungible across oil & gas and renewables markets.

Ashtead Technology has a presence in the UK, USA, UAE, Norway, Canada and Singapore, with customers in offshore energy, offshore renewable energy, later-life oil & gas assets, subsea and offshore infrastructure, and decommissioning. Growth has been achieved both organically and through strategic acquisitions. The company's operations sit within a heavily regulated, cross-border industry in which contracts, licensing, decommissioning liabilities and international compliance form a substantial part of the commercial landscape.
